Something About Me, the Artist, the woman behind the acrylic and watercolors
Hi, I am Jossie Sepulveda
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a tropical island where beauty is everywhere, in its beaches, tropical forests, mountains, and valleys. I had every image of beauty around me growing up, however, I never felt it. I left the beauty and moved to the United States searching for a better life for my son, after his diagnosis of Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). If you search for that condition, you will not see something that would meet the criteria for beauty, probably the opposite. Moving to the United States as a single mom, and without knowing the language showed me the beauty of love, unconditional and amazing love. Times were hard, I was afraid of the unknown and scared of what this condition could cause to my son. That experience shows me the beauty of resilience and bravery. Years passed by and I dedicated all my energy and effort to his well-being.
Why SAAD? well for a very long time I was sad, however, now I want to give another meaning to that word. Don't get me wrong, being sad is a normal emotion, and we all should feel them here and there. All the emotions serve us in different ways, you and I should be able to allow ourself to feel them. To feel the uncomfortable emotions, sadness, grieving, fear, depression, loneliness, and etc. is important for our health, and wellbeing. This new adventure, SAAD, is bringing me so much joy, happiness, fulfillment, excitement, encouragement, and more. My vision and purpose is to bring color, beauty, sophistication, and good emotions to your house and your life. Join me on this journey and be SAAD with me.

Beauty resides in the minds of those that can imagine it beyond the ugliness of their life. By Jossie Sepulveda I Would like to invite you to explore the beauty through my eyes. My life has not been beautiful, many scars are covering my body, mind, and soul. Every day, I have the option to see my life through compassion, and a ton of lessons learned. I am no different than you, and probably we are carring with past and present traumas that blurry our image of a beeautiful life. I am sure you and I want to survive and thrive to a better life. Somedays the process of thriving looks colorfull and other days looks dark and on every shapes of gray. Somedays the process of thriving looks beautifully, and other days, not that much. However, every day, even the darkest ones, where I allow myself to feel and embrace them, I cry out loud, I allow myself also to see beauty through the tiny space between what was and what could it be. I hope I can bring to your day, and to your life, beauty, colors, joy, and happiness through my artwork. SAAD is Something about Art and Design, and the reason why I have chosen that name is because my artwork and design has brought me so much joy and fulness to a beautiful life beyond the ugliness.
